Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Kasbah Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley

Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga desert 

After breakfast, your journey continues through Morocco’s striking landscapes. Begin with a visit to the spectacular Dades Gorge, famous for its unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations and panoramic valley views. Then head to the impressive Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs rise over 300 meters, creating one of the country’s most breathtaking natural sites. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the river and take in the peaceful surroundings, with glimpses of nearby Berber villages.

The adventure continues through Tinejdad and Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and as a gateway to the Sahara. As the scenery shifts into vast desert plains, you’ll arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Here, switch to a camel trek and ride across the golden dunes at sunset. Arrive at your desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and a traditional Moroccan dinner. In the evening, enjoy Berber music around the campfire under a sky full of stars before spending a memorable night in the Sahara.

Explor Merzouga – Khamlia-Nomad Familly

The third part of the journey from Marrakech to Fes is dedicated to exploring the desert region around Merzouga Dunes. After breakfast, you set out on a desert excursion to discover the nomadic lifestyle and the striking contrasts of the Sahara landscape.

The route includes a visit to the village of Khamlia, where you can experience live Gnawa music, a spiritual tradition brought by communities originally from sub-Saharan Africa. You may also stop in Rissani, the historic former capital of the region, to enjoy a traditional Berber pizza for lunch. Later, a visit to the seasonal lake near Merzouga offers a chance to observe rare bird species depending on the time of year.

In the late afternoon, the adventure continues with a camel trek into the dunes, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the vast Sahara scenery. Along the way, you witness a stunning sunset over the sand dunes before reaching your desert camp after about an hour of riding.

Merzouga – Ziz valley – Ifran – Fes

Your final day begins with an early sunrise over the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, a magical moment as the desert glows in warm colors. After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga, where your driver will continue the journey north.

Travel through the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm groves, and stop to enjoy panoramic views before heading to Midelt for lunch. Continue through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot Barbary macaques, then visit Ifrane, famous for its alpine-style architecture.
